Two Wisconsin Sea Grant outreach specialists are tackling projects that will help communities up and down Great Lakes coasts adapt to what is coming -- climate change.
Coastal Engineering Outreach Specialist Gene Clark is creating economic tools, or scalable models, for evaluating the potential Great Lakes economic impacts to navigation and port, harbor and marina infrastructure due to climate-induced variations.
Geographic Information Specialist David Hart is working on the visualization of shoreline and water level change for three Great Lakes harbors based on updated climate change and lake level scenarios. He is using various online mapping tools.
As work progresses, updates and tools will be available through this page
The projects are being done on behalf of the Great Lakes Sea Grant Network, with funding from NOAA's Climate Program Office.
