Leadership Change at Center for Limnology

Retiring Director John Magnuson has been awarded emeritus status, but he certainly hasn’t stopped working.

His recent paper on lake ice duration was published in Science amidst a flurry of attention, and he is teaching half of the center’s limnology course until new faculty member Jake Vander Zanden arrives next summer.

The new director is James Kitchell, the former associate director and science advisor for UW Sea Grant’s Living Resources Subprogram.
