The Center for Great Lakes Literacy seeks 15 educators from throughout the Great Lakes region to participate in this year’s Shipboard Science Workshop, which will take place on Lake Superior. During this expenses-paid workshop, educators will be aboard the Environmental Protection Agency’s research vessel, the R/V Lake Guardian. The workshop is based out of Duluth, Minn., from July 9-15, 2016.
The Shipboard Science Workshop is for 4th-10th grade teachers and non-formal educators from a Great Lakes state. Successful applicants must be willing to integrate Great Lakes science and literacy into their teaching curriculum. Participants will work with Great Lakes research scientists and be eligible for graduate credits.
The Shipboard and Science Workshop, which takes place on a different lake each year, is hosted by the Center for Great Lakes Literacy and coordinated by the Great Lakes Sea Grant Network and the U.S. EPA Great Lakes National Program Office.
